The character “Fú” has a long history in Chinese culture. It is believed to have originated from the Shang Dynasty (1600-1046 BCE) oracle bone script, and was later used during the Qin Dynasty (221-206 BCE) as a symbol of blessings and good fortune. It became even more popular during the Han Dynasty (206 BCE – 220 CE), and has remained a popular symbol in Chinese culture ever since.
